And do not forget…

About all the family members out there who have yet to hit the skids. Most are still drinking and time and alcohol abuse WILL catch up. It is just a matter of time.

At a wake not too long ago, only one other family member and I were sober. We were at the funeral of the family member who bled to death.

We watched as everyone did shots or drank fine wine, each person climbing in the Bag as the night wore on.

We watched with sadness and probably too much judgement as the Family Tradition took hold.

Only time will tell who will fall later.

Mommy is next. I know that for certain.

I am grateful for my health, my family, my friends, and for Faith.

Peace,   Jen

  2. This is searingly honest and beautifully written. Every word hurts. Recognition is painful. But I am grateful to share your journey. Love and peace, my friend.

    • Right! Thank you for the reminder. This isn’t feeling so much like a blessing. But it is!! You are an Angel!

  4. Jen – From the name of your blog to your raw turn of each phrase, you share as so few ever do. I found you from following Heidi’s blog. Thank you for writing with such vulnerability. I hope it helps you as much as it touches others.
